How to sort comments shown by CTRL SHIFT F2?

Post by *spikey »

I use "descript.ion" files and TC shows them when I press CTRL SHIFT F2.

How can I sort the file list to show files ordered by the content of the descript.ion comments?

There is no column heading which I can click to do the sorting.

I created a custom column with "tc.comment". When I use Show > Custom Columns Mode (Shift F1) the comments appear under the "size" column heading but clicking that wrong heading doesn't sort the comments.

Alternatively, I have tried Show > Comments (Ctrl Shift F2) to see the comments. But I can't get the files to sort in comment order.

Is there a step by step idiot's guide to setting this up? Last time I set up custom columns with comments was in version 6 or 7 of TC and now I can't remember a single thing about doing it!

Grrr!!! Help.

1: Right-click on the tabheaders.
2. Click "Configure custom columns".
3. Click the button "New"
4. In the Name field write "Comments"
5. Click the "Add column" button.
6.Click the "+" button to the far right.
7. Under Plugins: click "tc".
8. Under Properties: click "comment".
9. Click OK 3 times.

That works brilliantly. Excellent. Thanks.

I didn't see the "+" button and was entering the field contents manually but had to guess the entries.
