Shift+Del operation takes much longer time for 80k files

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Shift+Del operation takes much longer time for 80k files

Post by *Jan Vonasek »

I am using Win8.1 and version 9.0a x64. I often need to delete about 80k files from my SSD drive. File deletion usually starts with expected speed but soon it rapidly slows down to say 10 times lower speed. I did not see this issue before update from 8.X version. When I use Windows Explorer to delete files the speed is quick as expected. It is reproducible everytime on both my machines with different SSD vendors. I did not tested it on HDD.

I did test using version 8.52 64bit and I see the same issue.
I did test using version 8.01 64bit and I do not see this issue.

Hmm, no idea - I call the (only available) Windows function to delete files directly, nothing special...
