You don't have to provide a debug log. Just provide the steps to reproduce - I guess you know what you have done.

This is something that can be observed through many of your posts. You provide screenshots which is fine but you don't describe what led to the situation. This is not really helpful in the end. My impression is that you are using TC in a very special environment. Other users probably never see those situations as they don't have a comparable environment. They would also benefit from increased performance when these issues can be resolved - although not in such a big way as you. So it would be great to get more detailed descriptions instead of screenshots where an hourglass is placed somewhere. That doesn't help anyone.

Other tools such: Windows Explorer, .NET Or Visual Studio or Java have the ability to log diagnostic which took place at the time the error occurred and the information contained in the log.

Lefteous,
Come on, you are too critical. We do have the hourglass screenshot, after all.

TC is simply unstable even if you've fully read the full Directory. Performance fully worst of all applications.

Open Large Dir:

Code: Select all

740K files
108GB
12K folders
SSD TC (High performance)
HDD TC (Poor Performance)

SSD or HDD Explorer (Average Performance)

SSD or HDD Any MFT Tool (Super Performance & Stable)
It uses only RAM so the highest performance even if
100,000,000 files (2 MB size)
1,000,000 folders
I tested

Let's say you are right. Why don't you help to overcome this poor situation? Do what every other user does. Provide steps to reproduce instead of just complaining. Before noone else can reproduce the source of the problem could be anything e.g. an incompatbility between the highly optimized functions in TC and your PC. Who knows?

Total file size of 100 GB
A minimum of 500K - 700K files

That's s step forward description-wise but still not nearly enough. So you have a lot of files in a folder with lots of subfolders. Now what? Is the distribution of files and folder important? Is the file size really important? What exactly was slow? What have you done? 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Come on. It's not that difficult.

You are not really posting a picture of your HDD?

These are the files without an extension. They contain only the information: "RUSSIAN, UKRAINIAN etc. Description Post" (txt file etc.)

Code: Select all

<BR>Петербург - город, в котором вы всегда хотите вернуться. По-видимому, мое беспокойное сердце незаметно упала с</BR>

We must explore other possible REAL solutions before we make the choice. Every effort should be made to improve performance while achieving your objective.
Probably Total Commander does not support Performance large folders. That's all.
Explorer rulez the speed,
and Total Commander in the ranking of the speed falls to the low position.

Well instead of providing valuable information you just keep on repeating yourself or give information like 'files have no extension' although the real questions have been asked before (see above).
