Bug: CANCEL "Read LARGE Dir" defect

Post by *makinero »

[Cancel] It does not work, it still works in the background and freezes the GUI

ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

It still reads recently opened large directory when launching program.
How to PERMANENT disable refreshing?

Again no detailed bug report  Please start by posting all your refresh-related settings. And yes there is a dedicated bug reports forum where you can post - well - bug reports.

It still reads recently opened large directory when launching program.
BTW - I don't think there is mechanism that prevents rereading when launching the program. The option refers to activating an existing instance.
it still works in the background and freezes the GUI
It's never a background thread that freezes the GUI. It's the UI that waits for a background thread to finish (if any).
How to PERMANENT disable refreshing?
I don't think there is a way to do that currently.

Explorer - only read once, then it is faster.
Total Commander all the time, it's kind of refreshing

Click "ESC" = Still read in the background

Well so far you didn't elaborate on your 'reread on disk change settings'...
I cannot confirm that it rereads all the time. There are some actions though which force a refresh like reopening the folder.
