ZIP shortcuts (e.g. Alt+F5) not working

Post by *Georgio »

Hello,

yesterday I installed TC 9.0a over my previous version 8.52. The problem is that the shortcuts for zipping (Alt+F5) and unzipping (Alt+F9) are not working anymore. I still can go to the upper menu and click on both functions manually, but it is a little uncomfortable. Any suggestion how to make those shortcuts work again?

Thank you

Search the forum for nVidia (if you have nVidia hardware) or Windows Hotkey Explorer or NirSoft HotKeysList. They are either the culprit itself (nVidia software) or will help you find it.

Hi, Georgio.

This reads more like some newly installed software is intercepting those keyboard shortcuts systemwide.
The mentioned keyboard shortcuts have not changed between TC 8 and TC 9.0a.
Please, cf. here and try out Nir Sofer's HotKeysList in order to identify the culprit.

You are right! That was NVidia Experience who took the hot keys! Thank you very much :D

You can turn off hotkeys in GeFoce experience like this:
1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Z
2. Click on the gear icon (settings)
3. Click on "Keyboard shortcuts"
4. To remove a shortcut, click on it, then press "Delete"

Another hotkey thief is Intel HD Graphics applet, but it doesn't allow disabling stealing (you can disable hotkeys but it will still register them), so I have to disable its Graphics Control Panel Service in Computer Management console.
