Is it possible that someone makes a new plug-in for the x64 version to see thumbnails of PDF-files, or that the existing one for x32 is converted?

It's not perfect, but I recompiled the old Sumatra PDF based plugin for x64 some time ago, so you can use it for PDF thumbnails.

Why don't you install the actual full x64 SumatraPDF.
It works fine as PDF reader, prduces Thumbnails and can also be used by the SLister plugin to view PDF files.

I think it was asked for a plug-in on purpose, for not relying on the system to generate thumbnails. And since slister doesn't support thumbnail generation in TC, there isn' t much else you can do.

Well it was a q&d patch. Maybe I will do some better patching for a future release, but currently I don't have the time for it.
Besides, I thought that maybe someone else would port this plug-in to a newer sumatra source, which is a much bigger task of course, but no luck so far.
