Lister HIDPI and touchpad issues

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Lister HIDPI and touchpad issues

Post by *yooyo3d »

I have some issues using TC on HDDPI screen on my laptop.

No matter what DPI scaling I set, Lister is way too small. Looks like it doesn't suport DPI scaling.

Another Lister issue is it doesn't recognize multitouch gestures on my touchpad. I have Dell XPS 15 running Win 10. Its touchpad is system wide configured to scroll any view using two fingers up/down gesture. Lister is only app which doesn't recognize scroll gesture.

I also have Asus laptop with touchpad running win 7 and Lister recognize two fingers gesture as scroll up/down.

I dont know why it doesn't work in Win 10?

Try choosing a different font in Lister: The "fixed font" used there is only available in a few sizes.

Regarding the touchpad: Are you running Total Commander with higher user rights? There should be a ^ character in the title if this is the case. Many touchpad drivers run as user mode programs, which cannot access programs with higher rights.

Different font fixed that. Thank you.

Re touchpad.. no.. im not using TC with higher user rights... Just as regular user. TC in file list works just fine with two fingers gestures but Lister not working.

I tried Spy++ on Lister and im getting lots of WM_NCHITTEST messages when I do two fingers scroll.

I did same test on ASUS running Win7 and Spy++ reports WM_VSCROLL messages (with others.. erase backgrounnd, paint, etc.)

Any clues?

Yes, Lister should receive WM_VSCROLL messages to scroll. It's a normal window with a scrollbar, therefore I don't see why the keypad isn't sending the scroll messages. :(

I have a Samsung tablet/notebook convertible with a touchpad, and 2 finger scrolling works just fine! It's running Windows 10 Creators Update 64-bit. It might be a problem with the specific touchpad driver you use...

I did not install any driver for my touchpad. In device manager it displayed as "HID-compliant touch pad" with standard driver from Microsoft. Notebook is Dell notebook, it has no any touchpad driver at official drivers download page.

The driver is provided by Microsoft but actually made by the touchpad maker (or touchpad chip maker).
