9.11? Better skip it

Post by *ZoSTeR »

911 tends to get associated with bad events.

So from a marketing / psychological point of view you'd better skip it.

There's a marketing bug in that version number.

If that bug is relevant to the author remains to be seen.
I'm just not comfortable with the idea that version 9.11 becomes the stable TC version for months or years to come.

You are right! I worked for a company where the same software had version 4.6 for exisiting clients to give them the idea we did enough to solve possible problems and we had version 5.0 for new clients to give them the idea that they bought someting error free.

I was wondering if since 2001 there has been a decrease of emergency calls in US...I mean...from a psychological point of view.... if I had a broken leg or my friend was dying, I could NEVER dial emergency that is related to a bad event.

And second thing I was wondering... if I would ever made up this relation between the version of a software and a hystorial event by myself.

What is next? Do not buy TC 19.39!
Or: If you are a good author of software, before you announce a new version of your software, first check if its number is related to any hystorical event. Even in its cross total, back and forth, and any multiplier you can think of.

Ah yes .... and better be vegan! You will never sell software that is not vegan!

It's a funny world...with less problems than I thought...
