F4 with selected file

Post by *Hurdet »

In option viewer for F3 have:
Internal Viewer with file under cursor
Internal Viewer with selected file
why also F4 not have it?
it is uncomfortable with
"Open files and directories with a single click"

There is no internal editor, so there is no option "Use internal editor" as there is for internal viewer.

"There is no internal editor" but there is the F4 that launch editor.
I would to can to launch with F4 not the file file under cursor but the file selected.

F4 has always been working this way: start the editor with the file under the cursor. I would never expect that TC starts the editor with all selected files. Even worse: What if you have set an editor that isn't a multi-document editor? Do you expect TC to launch a new editor instance for every single one of them? Could be potentially dangerous for the OS's stability if you have selected thousands of files and press F4 by mistake...

BTW, there are some F4 manipulation tools available that may change the behavior of F4; maybe one of them does what you want. What definitely works is drag'n'drop of selected files in an open editor instance (as long as it's a multi-document editor).

When press F3 not starts the editor with all selected files but only the main.
I would this also for F4.
Why F3 yes and F4 not?
The problem is when is checked "Open files and directories with a single click" and select with right click.
Then the file under cursor not is the one I clicked on but the one on which the cursor is located.
I right click a file to select it, but when i move mouse the cursor select other file as long as I get to the F4 button.
I can also create a button specifically to edit a file. But the cm_Edit abnormality remains as it does not behave like the others

You can change this behavior:
F1:4.b wincmd.ini wrote:SingleClickStart=0
0: Double click starts programs (default)
1: A single click starts programs and opens files (Win98 WEB style)
2: A single click only opens folders. For files, a double click is needed
4 added: The text cursor no longer follows the mouse cursor
SingleClickStart=6
or
SingleClickStart=5
