[Bug] Locked tab lost if dir specified on command line

Post by *szlori »

Well, I'm not 100% sure if this is a bug, but it's for sure an unwanted behavior IMO.
  • Let's say you have a locked tab which is the active one.
  • Close TC, then launch it by setting a different directory for that panel (it happens in both cases, left or right) in the command line.
  • TC will open the specified directory in the locked tab and now the tab is locked to the new directory. You lost the lock to your original directory.
It works correctly with /O parameter for a running TC.
In this case if a locked tab is active, TC will open a new tab (even if /T is not specified).
However, in case of launching TC even /T doesn't work (although that's expected, since the help states that /T works with /O).

Yes, this is a known limiation - the current dir is loaded before the other tabs, so TC knows nothing about locked tabs at this time. Therefore it's currently not possible to prevent this behaviour, sorry.

Hi,

This also happens when you open a file directly from an email.
E.g. when I open a zip file from an email, a new Tcmd instance is loaded and the locked Tab in the left pane has now changed to the zip file.

Closing and opening Tcmd again, causes the locked Tab to show my temp folder (as that was the dir the temp zip was opened). So my orginal locked Tab is lost.

Please note that Tcmd wil always change the locked Tab that is active. So if I have 3 tabs locked, and the middle one is active, Tcmd will take that one. Locked tab is also lost if no Tcmd instance is running before opening the file from the email.

Greetings.
