Mounted are better---

Post by *Clo »

:) Hi !
¤ Right, and it's often better to mount network-items as drives with letters; many programs don't show the Network when you ask for open files from them, but the mounted drives only:|
* I drawn a small icon-collection for the command-family cm_GotoDrive… It's available in a free pack from this page.

and when you there you add this "folder" to the directory-list
(ctrl+d) choose as title something with & at the beginning ie

snapshot from my tc.ini:
[DirMenu]
...
menu14=&C - CDBrenner
cmd14=cd \\\CDBrenner

so after pressing ctrl+d, c I'm in the TCBurner-Folder :D

:) Hi !
¤ They aren't wonderful, but they are numerous and explicit (I hope…). Just ask for others if you need i.e. for the "Drives" series or some large sizes (64*64…72*72)…

:mrgreen: Kind regards,
Claude

Hmm, correct me if I'm wrong, but to my knowledge, normal programs don't see the Windows key, because the system catches it first...

100% right - otherwise ShortCuts like
Win+R, WIn+E, Win+D, Win+E, Win+Pause
wouldn't work everywhere...

That's wrong, otherwise

1. there would be no programs with which you can assign Windows key to programs like http://www.brianapps.net/hotkeyplus/ and not to forget the magic TypeAndRun with hotkey plugin of course

and

2. because "the system" means "Explorer shell" only. Under alternative shells the hardcoded explorer shell shortcuts like Win+E are only effective if the shell is configured to use them, otherwise they are *of course* not active and completely free for assignments.
In my LiteStep installation for example I can start Total Commander with Win+E without any problems, if I wanted to do so. ;)

There is absolutely no reason why you should not integrate the Windows key to be used for reassignments. I would love to do so, just like sas2000...

The windows key is a modifier key just as shift or alt.
It is special only because it was invented later by M$.
