It blinks here on Windows 11 even in beta 6, and in 32-bit, it's just much shorter.

I have never noticed it before and can't make it blink in beta 6 or older on Windows 10.

This is from a 120 fps video capture (120 hz display).

First frame after clicking the search button:

Beta 7 - https://i.imgur.com/U13tJwj.jpg
Beta 7 32-bit - https://i.imgur.com/pZpsWp2.jpg

12 frames after:

Beta 7 32-bit - https://i.imgur.com/MkfUnki.jpg

Looks like the 32-bit version blinks too, but with a grey background instead of black.

But gray - is a RIGHT color! in this dialog, so why any non-gray colors should occur here?
And that leads us to the decision - everywhere should be filled with gray)))
Well, or more precisely the color that the user has chosen for this dialog.

Huge thx for 120 fps frames! Very strong evidence!

Yes, grey is better than black, but ideally there should be no paint delay at all.

This is Windows 11 running in a virtual machine:

I'm sorry but it looks exactly the same here with beta 6 and 7.

Here is a frame from a phone recording of beta 6. I tried with the Windows snipping tool, but it never caught that frame.

Can you see it without the phone camera? It should be very obvious 100ms paint delay.

I can't see it in beta 6 (there is none according to my capture), but easily in beta 7. I have tested it on 3 different PCs and 1 VM.

Yes, I can see it easily in beta 6 and 7. There is also nothing in my capture, but there is when recording with my phone, see updated post above. That's for beta 6.

How can you see it if it's not in the capture? Can you see it the phone recording only?

Can you see this black border - https://i.imgur.com/U13tJwj.jpg in your capture of beta 7? For me it's there 100% of the time, 5 consecutive frames of 60 fps video.

Tested OK using TC 11.00 b8.

No, I cant see this black frame in the capture, just the black bar as in my screenshot above. The snipping tool records 60 frames per second and seems to miss the black bar every time. The phone doesn't capture a frame but captures the light from the screen over a period of time, so it catches the black bar just like the eye can see it.

@white

It seems to be fixed in beta 8. First frame after button press, no black border - https://i.imgur.com/PIsfWoS.jpg

Thanks.

That black bar from your photo is probably a different issue, never seen anything like that.

So, now if it happens - not in each of the attempts to start the search, even -very-very rarely - then very quickly and it is felt very unobtrusively.
Maybe it's even really some other overlay - the problem of my video card drivers, for example...
But imho you can treat it now as "Confirmed fixed"!
