VisualDirSize

Post by *kajoj1 »

Directory Size provide a graphical overview of the files/folders in a selected directory.
You can view a chart by putting cursor on any directory and pressing 'Ctrl+Q'.
Selected directory will be scanned and files/folders size will be displayed as a bar chart in the Quick View panel.
Such bar chart is useful for showing the relative size of files/folders.
For instance: you can quickly locate the biggest file/folder in directory.

Indeed very good work :) Me happy :P

There are just 2 issues I would like to point out:
1. The vertical scroll bar doesn't go low enough to completely show the last file/folder in the list
2. The status bar with the number of kb is not refreshed. Although this could be a TC issue

Thanks for the answers :D

@Botak
1. The vertical scroll bar doesn't go low enough to completely show the last file/folder in the list
Directory Size scan all files and folders in selected directory but
only first 500 are displayed, because on slower machines
appears problem with refreshing. If you want more bars
you can raise MaxDisplayBar value in dirsize.ini for example:
MaxDisplayBar=100000

I've checked my plugin with folder contain ~3000 files and all of them were displayed. :) (when MaxDisplayBar changed to 100000)
2. The status bar with the number of kb is not refreshed. Although this could be a TC issue
My plugin don't change Total Commander status bar at all..

Thanks for this new plugin...

Just a wish : please enable the possibility to use
IconLibPath=%COMMANDER_PATH%\icones\WCicolib3D.icl
instead of
IcoLibPath=c:\totalcmd\icones\WCicolib3D.icl

Is it possible to make this plugin as filesystem-plugin?

I have installed the ieview plugin and when I want to see the graphical overview I have always to switch to the other panel and press [4]. And if I want to see the overview of the next folder I have to switch back to the first panel, then move to the next folder and again switch the panel and press [4].

Yes I know: I can change the order but usually I want to use the ieview in quickview mode on foders.

So if it is possible to make this plugin as filesystem I would be very happy.

Already implemented. Please wait for the next relase...

Well, hard to say, because I've written my plugin as lister-plugin not filesystem-plugin. I'd have to write compleatly new plugin.
Please consider, that my plugin would loose his main advantage, because it would be impossible to quickly change directory to analyze.

Sorry for my English, it's not my native language :)

I've got the problem that by pressing 'Ctrl+Q' only the Quick-view window opens. So what's my error? Thanks in advance for your answers.

poiuytr This is not a single collection, but a mixture from icon libraries (most of them from xp-icandy). I even don't know if i can share them with others as some of them from executables. If you google for xp-icandy you will find alot of them.

Could you give me correct sizes of directories from your screenshot? Can't reproduce that bug....

1. Please check version your Total Commander. It must be in ver 5.5 or newer.
2. Check if plugin is installed correctly. Go to TC "Options" -> "Edit/View" tab -> "Configure internal viewer" button -> "LS-Plugins" button -> check if dirsize.wlx exist in the list.
3. You could always install plugin again.. Please write if you have still problems with dirsize

Currently no, but I'm planning add option to double click on directory and scan it. Of course, it'll be option to go up to parent dir. So it'll be option to scan root path. :)
