widimec wishes

Post by *nicol »

Hi ,

i recently discovered this tool and it suits to me.
I wishes some features :
- the capability to duplicate a menu or submenu or an entry :
i often use the directory menu to access ftp sites on the same remote directories except the server name.

- when open widimec , i'm always forced to maximize it !!!!!

- under TC i make a FTP connection so i see it with a network icon but not under widimec , is there any reason or can you make it ?

Thanks

Christian

widimec - note taken

Post by *Finn »

I'm the author of widimec and a nice fellow from Sweden turned my attention to your post.
I've now made a note of them. I'll fix the maximize problem for sure and probably the duplicate thing. The network icon I'll have to look into.

I've now made a new version of widimec and two of your wishes should now be fulfilled.

Wincmd.ru WWW.TOTALCMD.NET
I see that future is near...

2Finn: The screenshot looks very interesting !

But widimec doesn't recognize my wincmd.ini (located at TC install dir). Same on Win98 and NT
Clicking on "Open" menu item results in a message "No ini file (wincmd.ini) was found"

Do you already support the location entry at the registry ?

If not may I have a File Open dialog to point to the correct location ?

TO sga wizard:

I knew there would be a problem at some time with the folder/ini names. Could you tell me if you have one or both of these reg.keys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ghisler\Windows Commander

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ghisler\Windows Commander

AND what the value of the key(s) are.

AND PARTICULARLY if the last part of the name is 'Windows Commander' or 'Total Commander'!

If you don't have any of these reg.keys, does it help if you move the ini file to your Windows folder?

I might have forgotten to let widimec look in the Total Commander folder...

2Finn: my registry keys are

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ghisler]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ghisler\Total Commander]
"IniFileName"=".\\wincmd.ini"
"FtpIniName"=".\\wcx_ftp.ini"
"InstallDir"="C:\\WinTools\\TotalCmd"

Note: No entry for Windows Commander, because I installed TC in a own folder and deleted WC afterwards incl. cleanup of the registry.

I had to fight 2 weeks with me for deleting my most valuable tool, even that I replaced it by TC :)

FYI : Copying wincmd to Windows folder lets widimec find it successfully !

This key is not used by TC. Please only check the key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ghisler\Total Commander

Thanks!

Hi ,

- the capability to duplicate a menu or submenu or an entry :
i often use the directory menu to access ftp sites on the same remote directories except the server name.
==> the duplication of a menu works but the main interest is to copy all the menu with the submenu (es) , keys , subkeys etc.

Can you look upon that , please ?

- when open widimec , i'm always forced to maximize it !!!!!

==> ok it works
