Not supported----

- Hello !
- Sorry, I couln't download your sample. However AFAIK, the WinZip 10 format is not supported by the built-in TC unzip library currently… Same for encrypted ZIP, needs to install another unzip library supporting the passwords if there is any (legal issues in Switzerland)

 Kind regards,
Claude

Hello Claude, there is a german instruction:

Then the download will start as usually. The xxx are three letters as graphic against robots I think.

Unpack OK

:) Hello Stefan !

• Thanks, this is quite unclear, I hate these images hosts !
- Finally, I got the file, not problem, same as Paul, I can unpack it normally in the other panel using the Unpack command from a button, as usual…
{ Aside : odd to ask for help about a competitor archive… :P }

Yeah, it's a bit uncomfortabel. Bit it's free.

- I have a couple of them only for that HD (TotalSQX and BZ2), but I used only the default unpacking… Paul has only TotalSQX, AFAIK…
- I've the alternative DLL supporting passwords, but there is no password for that archive.
- Here the CRC as MD5 :

Code: Select all

Strange.

I can't unpack the file (it's the same md5).

I'm working under XP SP2.

[edit]

Even under virtual W98 machine it's impossible to unpack this file.

:) Hello !

- One can open the archive with TC 6.53, but not unpack it !

After the error message, like Sheepdog says, it results a "0" byte unpacked file…
Under XP-Pro.
- BUT in a special case, I got really the right unpacked file…

 Kind regards,
Claude

You're right, i can open 2XEXPLORER.zip with Tc but not unpack it, i've tried also with Winrar, Unzip & Pkware Pkzip and it results a "0" byte unpacked file or "Unknown compression method".

But i have found this on Winzip webpage.
Improved Compression

WinZip 10.0 supports two new compression methods within the Zip file format, PPMd and bzip2. These compression methods can provide greater compression and may significantly reduce the size of your Zip files, saving both data transmission time and valuable disk space.

Note: extracting files compressed with PPMd or bzip2 requires a compatible Zip file utility. Currently WinZip 9.0 and 10.0 will process Zip files compressed using the bzip2 method. WinZip 10.0 is required for PPMd-compressed files.

I've checked properties of 2XEXPLORER.zip with Winzip 10 and i have found :

 compression method ( 98 ): ppmd encoding
