I don't criticise the SQX It didn't cross my mind that the avi was totally uncompressed I always dreamed of a miraculous packer that would shrink media files Anyway - got another fine packer plugin with usefull sefl-extract option thanks

If you try to pack an image *.PNG - pretty compressed generally -, you'll not get any gain at size, even a little bigger archive because its own structure is added…

There is no packer which can pack every file to a smaller size to the original. Why? Imagine this scenario: You pack a file with the same packer again and again. Now if the packer would always be able to shrink the file, the archive would become smaller each time, until it had reached a size of 0. How would you unpack that to _different_ original files?
