how to edit TC program title bar?

Post by *sanejane »

Heya there,
I've seen a screenshot of someone who edited his TC title bar, the one that goes on the window at the top which currently says "Total Commander 6.53",
I add there my nick
anyone knows how to do that?

http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/totalcamper.html

Activate tc_plugin on last tab, enter this string:

Code: Select all

#Camper@%text:blabla%

There is but you have to modify the program for that which is not allowed officially so it's the wrong place to ask here.

You can also use CapTime instead of Camper:

Wrong !

There is a way without other utilities running all the time.

You can create batch file which will start TC, rename its title and exit, living TC open with new title. Next, change the parameters of your TC shortcut to point to this batch and give it a icon you want.

thats it.

You can also use icfu illegal methods. Of course, If you bought TC, that doesn't matter so you can do whatever you want with it, since it is your private instance of TC. Use keygens.... or whatever you like. Of course, that will leave Total Commander 6.53 prefix.

I hope that helps. You can use NirCmd to change title of TC from batch.

You can add to title whatever You want by editing some of TC's files. 'Cause I don't know is it legal, I won't tell You anything more...

I'm not sure It's OK 'cause that caption looks like encrypted. (strange kind of encyption)
If Christian says that's all right to point that I'll do it.
For now I don't want to be banned.

Please don't give these instructions here. The title is scrambled to avoid that the _average_ user changes it. Since TC has to unscramble it, it would make no sense to use strong encryption here - any hacker could still change it. But I don't want that normal users start to add fake names there. If they need this, they should use an external tool like the above-described totalcamper. Otherwise I will have to take countermeasures like making the string "NOT REGISTERED" untranslatable. I may even have to take countermeasures against totalcamper, like closing the program when another program sends it a change title bar message...
