Quick search

Post by *bugmenot »

Currently quick search eats, if typed, non existing characters in file list. My proposal is use * instead, this will handle mistypes much better. What do you think?

CTRL+[any key] hotkeys are not working while quick search is active and pressing alt should close quick search IMHO.

FYI, I use "Letters - with search dialog" as quick search setting.

I saw that before posting, my request is not quite the same. With my request you use classic quick search, without *, unless non existing character is typed then instead of eating it * is used.

Imagine following file list
ab.txt
ba.txt
bc.txt

If you type nc, by mistake, instead of bc that will take you nowhere, but with my request *c is used and bc.txt is selected.

With feature proposed in http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?p=70851 typing b will select ab.txt but with my request typing b will select ba.txt unless you make mistake and type vb for example.
