Companies don't use XP home they use XP Pro.
That's correct only for big companies. For example, we have a CD burning machine which uses a normal PC as a host. It uses Windows XP home, because it only does this burning job, nothing else. There are no users needed, no file security etc. Why pay a much higher price for something which isn't needed?
The support for MS operating systems is being extended for 12 months when a new service pack is released.
I find it incredible that Microsoft drops support for a product 12 months after they have sold the last copies to customers...

And big companies are o soo careful with new products...
Product may be on the market for a year or so before switch is made. It has to prove itself.

They have control of the market. What is so strange here?
Buy a new Ms built OS, for that one they have full support...

But as for support for XP pro is concerned,

Mainstream support will end two years after the next version of this product is released. Extended support will end five years after mainstream support ends.

There are also a few more problems i have with vista 5308 and TC.

For example, i can not create a new "valid" directory in the "program files" directory.

When i first tried to create a directory, TC showed that it was available but i could not create any new files in it.
When i changed some crapy security settings i was allowed to do it.
But now i can not see the files and directory's i create with TC in the windows explorer.

when i use the shell (cmd.exe) i also can not find the directory i made an i get an "the system cannot find the path specified" when i try to browse to it. while TC shows it to me.

It seems that Microsoft protected "program files" much more than in older Windows versions. It seems that only an Admin can now write to it correctly.
