Sync Dirs with name ignored

Post by *mohsh86 »

Case scenario: where files names are different (so are time stamps) but have the same content, using plugin such as "lots of hashes" https://totalcmd.net/plugring/LotsOfHashes.html where you can compare MD5, CRC32, SHA1, etc. TC highlights file name differences anyways although the content (hashes) are the same.

Would be nice to have an option to ignore file names (similar to ignore time stamps), and refer to hashes or whatever specified in the "by content" window (i.e. [=lotsofhashes.Compare MD5 ] in my case) as the "primary key" or base of comparison rather than file names.

Compare Dirs function may need to have similar options (although i refer to sync Dirs for comparison).

Unfortunately the comparison could then be ambigous. For example, if you have 2 files with the same hash on one side, and one on the other, then TC wouldn't know which to associate with each other, e.g.
Left:
document1.docx
document1.bak
Right:
document2.docx
