Feature Request - Checksum in multi rename tool

Post by *nk »

I know hashing is time consuming, so that might be problematic for the instant preview list, but it would be nice to see one or more placeholders for the Checksum of the file in the multi rename tool. I often deal with identical named files on backup mediums and [N].[=tc.Sha1].[E] would be a nice way to store them in the same folder, without loosing their origin name.

You can use Content plugins (.wdx files) in MRT (multi rename tool):
https://www.ghisler.ch/wiki/index.php/Plugin

For example "LotsOfHashes" content-plugin for Total Commander:
https://totalcmd.net/plugring/LotsOfHashes.html

FAQs: Installing/Removing a plugin is just this:

Why don't you use timestamps when doing backup?
