Use "Internal browser" for menu item 'Visit Totalcmd's Site'

Post by *qx87 »

For many years already we have internal associations. This feature allows us to use TC on USB flash stick. And this is great!

But when one try to 'Visit Totalcmd's Site' via main menu it opens in system default browser. It'd be good to have a facility to set also internal browser for similar actions to smth like "%COMMANDER_PATH%\..\Firefox\FirefoxPortable.exe".

Do you want to add internal association for http/https protocol?

It'd be good to ... set ... to smth like "%COMMANDER_PATH%\..\Firefox\FirefoxPortable.exe".

I understood it that way:
If you utilize any link from "Help" menu like f.ex. "Visit Totalcmd's Website..."
it should be open in a user configurable, "portable" way,
like using "%COMMANDER_PATH%\..\Firefox\FirefoxPortable.exe"        instead of the default set browser of your OS.

If you need to do this, just add a command to the Total Commander Start menu to open the browser you want. I will not include a browser in the installer, though, because it would be several times larger than Total Commander itself.

Christian,
Just like Stefan2, I also believe the request is about configuring which browser is launched when clicking a link from the Help menu, so one can configure a portable browser.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

I don't mean including some browser into tcmd's installer as internal one ))
I mean creating new option "Internal browser" with configurable command line, just as Hacker said.
