Find files: persistent settings

Post by *mikeyww »

Suggestion for the "Find Files" dialog: make settings persistent across sessions, or create an option to do so. I usually search in a specific level of subdirectories and have to change the setting from the default before each search.

Why don't you use stored searches ?

I agree with the mikeyww suggestion, it's a good idea and it would be very user friendly.
I have often been annoyed that I have to change every time I use the search.
I am aware of the possibility of saving searches and I use it sometimes, but as a complement it would be nice (and more user-friendly) to avoid changing the level of subdirectories every time I do not use saved searches. An option to remember it would be very helpful.

+1 turning on "find text" repeatedly grows old very quickly for example.
