Feature request: CTRL + backspace to delete whole words

Post by *deckard »

Hi all!

I have a small feature request: that it should be possible to use CTRL as a modifier when using "Backspace", so that you can delete whole words quickly.

This could be effective in many places, for example when editing file and folder names and when creating new folders. There are probably even more places. It does actually already work in the command line... :D

Keep up the great work!

Any takers for this? :D

Deleting whole words with CTRL + BACKSPACE is nice! It already works in the Copy & Move dialog popups.

It doesn't work in the following places:
  • Create new folder dialog
  • Rename file
  • Multi-rename tool
There are probably a few more places where it could be implemented as well.

Yup, would love to have it at least in Shift-F6.

The most inconsistency is that it works in some places and doesn't work in some other. So I would fix this too.

Ctrl+Backspace works in all places where Autocomplete is available and enabled (e.g. command line, copy/move dialog). It looks like it's a Windows feature made available to all programs that use Autocomplete.

But I'd like to see it available everywhere, too. Not sure how much work that is to implement though.

I miss CTRL+BACKSPACE daily in TC... just to repeat, it doesn't work in the following places (there might be other places):
  • Create new folder dialog
  • Rename file
  • Multi-rename tool
Chrisitan - does it sound like something worth implementing? :D
