I tried with your settings of dm2, no problem with sgviewer. :(

Btw, I tried to change
Language=Chinese.lang
to English, but still got Chinese entries in the program's context menu. Maybe dm2 isn't looking for its ini in the program directory?

I'm coming back, thanks for your activating my ID again!

DM2's settings are surely stored in dm2.ini, you can try deleting the dm2.ini file, then it will work by default settings: that will lead to the error here too.

PS1:
The problem mentioned has been reproduced in another PC, the same OS:Win XP Home SP1 CHS, with DM2 running.

PS2:
It seems that running Filebox Entender can also lead to this error .

Are there any other programs running in the background, e.g. a virus scanner or ZoneAlarm?

The test was carried out after the virus scanner was closed, including the processes running in background.

Everything works fine in 6.5*(6.51-6.55), but in TC 7 pb1, it seems that there is something wrong conflicting with DM2/FileboxEntender (only in XP SP1?).

Unfortunately I couldn't reproduce this error, neither in Windows XP SP1 nor SP2 (home, pro) nor Windows 2000, with or without DM2. Any other ideas of what could be causing this? My test installations are plain Windows 2000/XP installations under Vmware, but I also tried on real systems with these operating systems..

So complex...

Well, I shall make a survey in a Forum (in which there are quite a lot of TC users) in order to assertain this problem.
The result will be submitted here in after 2~3 days.

I have this problem too.
WinXP sp2 en, IE6, no DM2 and FileBox extender.
fileinfo 2.0.7/2.0.8
tc 7.0 pb1, upgraded from 6.55
Not only files of tc, but also some MFC apps written by myself.
I view a exe using lister, TC shows that message box. Continue, ESC, press F3 again, lister starts correctly. One more test, ok. The fourth, crash again.

Can you please make the following tests?
1. Open lister with Alt+Shift+F3 = no plugins, then press 4 to switch to plugins view

2. same as 1, but before switching to plugins view, turn off the text cursor if it is shown (with F6)

3. Make sure that the text cursor has been turned off. Then press F3 to open lister

1. Install TC7.0pb1
2. Install FileInfo(http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/fileinfo.html)
3. F3 :
I have no problems with fileinfo (neither v. 2.0.7 nor 2.0.8 )

I must be a conflict with another plugin - try running TC with fileinfo as the ONLY Lister plugin.

When exactly does it crash in tests 1 and 2?
- Directly when you press Alt+Shift+F3 or
- When you switch to plugins view with '4'?
