Access violation at copy or move by drag'n'drop

Post by *Samuel »

Hi

My sister just had an access violation. So I cant say much about it...

Here is the Text:
---------------------------
Total Commander
---------------------------
Access violation at address 00603A56. Read of address 00000000.
Please report this error to the Author,
with a description of what you were doing when this error occured!
Continue execution?
---------------------------
Ja Nein
---------------------------

I asked her about it, but she didn't know much. We couldn't reproduce it...
So what I got:
She moved or copied files with the mouse. Perhaps also on the up arrow (parent directory) Then the violation occurred.
There are only the 2 Panels, no tree view or something else. Thumbnail Mode was activated at both sides...
I clicked yes (The cursor icon was still the "drag to copy" icon), Messagebox closed as expected, but the program didn't respond anymore. So I closed and reopened, and everything was fine. Also no file was harmed :-)
Win XP SP2 Tc7b2

I wish you a nice chrismas this year

This is probably the same issue I reported here. The author noted it already and it will be fixed in the next beta.

Merry Christmas too!

You are probably right

I could reproduce the error with the same address 00603A56 (but not with yours: 00605E4E)

I just dragged (right click drag) a File to the incomplete area of the last incomplete line in a Directory in Thumbnail-Mode.
