[SOLVED] Again cursor position problems with inplace rename

Post by *SanskritFritz »

We already had a similar problem with ftp:
http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=6835
Now the same problem arises in branch view mode.
Lets have this structure:

Code: Select all

\c\c.txt
\c\a\a.txt
\c\b\b.txt
Set the sort order on ext. Press Ctrl-B. Now we see all 3 files:

Code: Select all

a.txt
b.txt
c.txt
Rename the file [face=courier]a.txt[/face] to [face=courier]a.xml[/face]. The result:

Code: Select all

b.txt
c.txt
a.xml
But the cursor is on [face=courier]b.txt[/face]

Interesting, when renaming [face=courier]c.txt[/face] to, say, [face=courier]c.bat[/face], the problem does not occur, only when the files are in subfolders.

I cannot confirm that any more with the above scenario. :(

It works perfectly, the cursor follows a.txt -> a.xml and jumps to the last position.

What sorting method do you use? I'm using natural sorting.

Me too, but maybe this is the reason:
SortUpper=3

2SanskritFritz
SortUpper=3 implies Natural sorting IMHO

Yes, SortUpper=3 is natural sorting.

Could you try it with a fresh wincmd.ini?

I did, same behaviour. Dont forget to first set the sort order to "Extension".

I just found out that the line in the history

14.01.07 Fixed: Cursor not staying on renamed file in branch view

came after the release of beta 3. Sorry for the mistake! I tested this with a different version than you...
