Automatically Scrolling File Panes

Post by *ArthurASCII »

Whenever a place my cursor in a file list pane, the content starts to scroll. This is making it nigh on impossible for me to select a file or folder. I have been a user of Total Cdr since 2001, and have never experienced this behaviour before.

I've checked out my mouse, and all is in order, and File explorer listings do not behave in this manner.

Have you any idea what might be causing this behaviour?

Yes.
16.10.19 Release Total Commander 9.50 beta 1
10.04.19 Added: When scrolling through file lists with the keyboard, keep a margin of 4 lines above/below the current position (32/64)
Configuration > Options... > Operation
☑ Extra lines below cursor: 4

The value: 4 to delete does not work yet.
Therefore, until further notice, enter the following in the wincmd.ini under section [Configuration]:

Code: Select all

ScrollingTopMargin=0
ScrollingBottomMargin=0
and then restart the TC.

Windows 10 Pro (x64) Version 1903 (OS build 18362.418)
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 CPU @ 3.4OGHz, 16 GB RAM

Maybe it's due to this option:
Configuration - Options - Operation
Extra lines below cursor: 4

Please get beta 2 if you want to disable this option.

Ahh, I see:

☑ Extra lines below cursor: 0
You must enter the digit 0 and must not delete the field contents!

Thanks for the hint!

???
Just unchecking the option should also disable it.

Since this request was made shortly before TC 9.50 Beta 2 was released,
and the problem with Beta 2 has been fixed, I suggest,
to move this topic to the forum "Total Commander (English)".

if value different from 4 (10) work fine while scroll panels, but if I press "go to parent" cursor locate at 4th file from end. if press down - happen jump cursor to next file and jump filelist to take 10th place from end. MB make so that after press "go to parent" cursor locate at 10th place from end.
sorry for my English )
