Localization of <DIR> string

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Localization of <DIR> string

Post by *Jungle »

When you select some file, its size in the status string is always displayed left from the date, but when you set <DIR> to e.g. <CATALOGUE> in the lng-file, this text will overlap the date.

You may simply change the column size to fit the altered text into the column.

Heh. I always set brief view, so if i don't like how something looks i should switch to e.g. full view, resize column, then save position and then switch back to brief view? Too much operations, i think

That's the way you supposed to use.

In my case is even worse. I've also hidden the tabstops bar so i have to do even more operations. :( It's irritating but i've learned to live with it. I don't do this every day...

2 Sheepdog: Nice sig. Among the ones i love in this forum. :)

Tip…

:) Hello !

• Just some friendly remark¦tip…

- We have waited for <DIR> be translatable during almost a decade…
- Personally, I just needed 3 characters in French to get <RÉP>, it's sufficient, and I'm very happy with that.
- However, during the private tests, some testers asked for a few more,
because 3…5 characters only are not meaningful enough in some languages.
- So, the Author has increased the control width.
- Using the maximal string lenght leads indeed to the issue you suffer here. Especially using always “Brief” view.
- Why not use an abbreviation ? For instance, <CAT> could do the trick, it's also the extension in Win for catalogues…

• Just my 0.02 €…
