[solved - will not be changed] TC 9.5b10 - Unexpected action of hotkey in the Change Attributes dialog

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[solved - will not be changed] TC 9.5b10 - Unexpected action of hotkey in the Change Attributes dialog

Post by *petermad »

Before TC v. 9.20 there was only one button in the bottom of the "Change Attributes" dialog saying: "Load from file under cursor" and if you pressed Alt+F or F, the attributes from the file under the cursor was transferred to the dialog and the "Change date/time" box was selected.

Since TC v. 9.20 there are two buttons and the text from the previous button is now moved op over the two buttons as a group header. But the Alt+F shortcut still performs the old action - the same as the button below with the (1) option.

For a new user that does not know the history of TC it is unexpected that Alt+F performs that action - it would rather be expected that focus is set to the left button below. Everywhere else in TC where a group header has a shortcut key, pressing the key sets focus on the first item in the group.

This is intentional: Many people (myself included) have used this hotkey for YEARS to load the options from the current file. I do not want to change that.
