While you choose file from result of quick search, Total Commander do not update it's status bar with name/size/date of selected file.

I guess you are using the "brief" view.
Sorry I cannot reproduce it.

It works fine here on WinXP, TC 7.56a

Putting the cursor on a single file shows file properties at status line.
Selecting multiple files shows count and size of selected files.

If you want to see file details of each file toggle to "Full" view.

sqa_wizard, he means that while quick search/filter window is active TC doesn't update status bar that is partially covered by that window when he moves cursor. It was dissussed before but I forget where exactly.

Indeed this isn't currently done for speed reasons, sorry. It's updated as soon as you close quick search. Since the footer is hidden by quick search, there is no much use in updating it while it's covered...

Christian, maybe TC should erase status bar contents during quick searching? At least it won't confuse users.

I don't agree with you. If problem in speed, you can make this feature off by default or turn it on only for not removable drives. When I search something, sometimes, I need compare dates or sizes of founded files. For example I have files in download folder with same names plus build number, and I remember only file name and date, when I download it, but do not remember build number...
