Losing Focus in and after popups

Post by *JaceySquires »

I just got a new PC with Windows 7, 64 Bit (was running Wndows XP, 32 Bit) and am seeing some 2 weird things with focus.

When I open a search window, it has focus, but loses focus after a few seconds. Doesn't matter if I start typing anything or not.

Various file operations (erase. move/copy etc) cause a window to popup. When that window closes, either by itself when an operation completes or after I click OK, focus does not return to the TC window that spawned it.

Anyone else seeing this?

Strange, where does the focus go to? It sounds like some other program is "stealing" the focus. Try to press Alt+Enter (properties), Alt+Space (system menu) or Alt+F4 when this happens, maybe you can find out what is stealing the focus.

Losing focus in the Search box is 100% repeatable. Happens about 3 seconds after the popup appears.

Alt+Enter, Alt+Space do nothing.

Alt+F4 returns focus to the Search popup.

So apparently something is grabbing the focus away from Total Commander. Maybe you can compare the list of programs shown by task manager (Ctrl+Shift+ESC) once after pressing Alt+F4, and once without pressing Alt+F4?
