file size wrongly positioned

Post by *xerces8 »

The size of a larger file (4GB) is displayed partly outside of the "Size" column.

I think a picture is worth 1000 words in this case.

Should I post a screenshot (how?) or try to explain it better in words?

That is a feature (not a bug) in the standard Full view - it takes advantage of the Type column - just make the Type column wider.

In Custum columns view the size stays within its column - so use that if you cannot tolerate the default behaviour in Full view.

See: http://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/sizecolumns.png whith Full view on left side and Custom columns view on right side.

No, it is different in my case, I'll post a screenshot later.

The problem is the right edge. Why is it not used fully?

Try to move it to the left, then you will see another column after the Date, 'Attr' shows the attributes of the files. Then you can adjust the size of all columns to your liking.

Sorry, I don't get it. There is unused space at the right of the Size column, while on its left, there is not enough space and the content "spills over" to the Ext column.

Confirmed. When widening the Size column (by moving its right edge), the values in it stay anchored to the left hand side, instead of the right one. It is possible, however, to configure a custom Size column, which is right-aligned. I would appreciate, however, if the right-alignment of the Size column became the default in the default TC column configurations

This isn't a bug, it's a feature! The separator to the right of the size column allows to set the DISTANCE to the date column, while the separator to the left allows to change the distance to the extension column.
