Change File Associations with Total Commander Android

Post by *johnstonf »

If it's possible, HOW can I change the File Associations using
TotalCommander Android?

I saw another post that talked about changing, and using the
"settings". I don't see that anywhere (ok, I'm blind!)??.

This is what it says:
You can define an internal association in the Total Commander settings to associate .flv with MoboPlayer.

Anyways, if it is possible, can someone provide me with a bit of
detail on HOW to do it? If not, can this function be added?

Thanks for a great and useful program for the Android!!!!!!!!

Ok, I found, under TC settings, where you can set INTERNAL
associations. (Click on the MENU, then Configure..., then
"Internal Associations"

But I'm looking how to change the Android associations. I
have a file extension for which I'd like to change the default
to a different app.

Thanks

to change the file association to a program you need to go into your android settings... manage applications... and find the app that's already the default and click on it, click clear defaults, and then the next time you try to open the specific file, it will ask you what program to open with, and you can click the check box "always open with" to set the new default

Spookytay is right, I read about that and is the way I use.
It´s easy, but unfortunately, it clears all the preferences of the program which we are "unassociating".

I was testing and I think that was unassociating my programs was the disturbing market updates of rarely used applications, so, after those updates, not TC, but instead ALL Android, need to associate the affectied file types.

(Example: quickpic was updated, the association dialog appear....some other picture management program updates, the dialog appears again)

Not a TC failure =)
