TC for Android: cancel WebDav connect - bug or design?

Post by *seb- »

Hi Christian, hi Forum,

i use webdav to access my Synology NAS at home.

When roaming outside the coverage of my home-WiFi i use a dyndns / no-ip.org service.

To connect to the NAS i created two webdav connections, one pointing to the dyndns domain and one to the local ip (192.168.2.10).

I tend to forget i'm not at home and keep clicking the 192... entry in the connections list.

Of course TC tries to reach this IP to connect, but i immediately notice this wont work and therefore click CANCEL.

However this does not have any effect and it takes TC quite some (long long) seconds to time out.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Try to connect to an IP which is not reachable (e.g. local IP when not at home)
2. Click "cancel" directly when connection
3. Observe that connection needs more time to timeout.

Can that be improved or is this by design and wont be changed?

Thanks!

regards from sunny Bonn!

P.S.: i just updated to RC4 to verify if it has been fixed/changed... its still valid.

Unfortunately this is a flaw of the used Java HTTP client library, sorry. I don't think that there is anything I can do about it. :(
