Copy button doesn't work (ICS+RC7)

Post by *tvgeloof »

Hi guys,,
Got a brand new ICS tablet yesterday and TC for Android was the first thing I installed on it.

To my dismay the Copy button in the bar on the bottom doesn't work at all.
It just doesn't react to the touch-screen.
The Select and Pack buttons left and right from it work just fine.

I have verified that it isn't a dead spot in the screen itself. If I place another app there I can operate it just fine.

I can of course copy/move things by using copy/cut/paste, but that is pretty bothersome.

Any ideas what is going on here ?

The copy button works fine in all my tests. Maybe
1. You didn't select any files?
or
2. The target panel isn't showing a writable location?

If this isn't the case, tap on the button with the green plus, and add the copy button manually a second time (command type: internal commands).

1) I did select files, tried folders too.
2) Target was writeable (/mnt/sdcard/Books, /mnt/sdcard/Downloads)

Copy button is NOT working while holding tablet horizontally (landscape). It DOES work in vertical orientation (portrait).
But in that case the UP arrow is located in the same spot and that doesn't work !

I tried the extra copy button as you suggested. This works regardless of the orientation.

There is really something about that spot on the screen that is causing this.

I removed TC and re-installed: Problem remains.

Again I checked whether it isn't a hardware issue with the screen itself.
This spot reacts to the live-wallpaper. Also when operating the web-browser it reacts to touch.

It's only TC that seems affected.
Very, very weird......

What do you mean with that? Do the buttons overlap somehow?

Could you send me a screenshot, please?

No, they don't overlap.

Maybe I wasn't too clear.

The folder up ( ... + arrow icon) in the file-list occupies that space on the screen when the tablet is held in portrait position.
And while holding it thus the same thing happens: TC doesn't notice that the touch-screen is pressed there.

I will send you a screenshot when I figure out how to make one. I'm rather new to Android.

Can you test whether it works when you switch from 2 panel mode to 1 panel mode in the configuration of Total Commander, please?
