Directory menu added to sub menu (although not checked)

Post by *Lefteous »

1. Make sure the last item is part of a sub menu
2. Add a new item. Don't check add to sub menu
3. Open the direcotry menu config.

New element is part of sub menu

Tested with TC 8.01 (x64), Windows 7 (x64)

Not confirmed
This only happens if the cursor is in or on the submenu while you are adding a new item.
That is what I expect as correct behaviour
Also for me there is no option "add to submenu" when I use the Add Item
button.

Would do you mean by 'cursor'? The selected item in the directory menu? In this case I cannot confirm your observation. It happens regardless of the current folder. In my test the menu contained only links to paths in \\\Registry. Maybe this makes a difference.

Yes, the selected item.

Lefteous,
If you have a submenu at the bottom of directory hotlist, last item should be "--" (end of menu) and not a part of any submenu. If you remove that item, then of course TC will add items to last submenu because it will be endless.

Horst.Epp,
Lefteous added menu item before opening dialog (just from dir menu) while you're talking about adding from dialog.

That could be the problem. I will check it tomorrow. But somehow it doesn't make sense as this item should always there otherwise TC would have an undefined state here.

Problem is that TC allows to delete items "-Submenu start" and "--" separately. So you can have many "-Submenu start" items and no "--" items at all. But TC closes all opened submenus after last entry so this doesn't cause any errors and undefined states. You can always add "--" item yourself BTW.

Yes, if "--" is missing, the item will be added to the submenu. This isn't a bug, the item is simply added to the end, and TC cannot "know" where the submenu ends.

Well I think it's a bit strange that the user has to take care of the structure of the list.

What if someone uses such behaviour to populate submenu? :D
