TC 8.01 x64 freezes upon launching a 32-bit program

Post by *commodore »

I'm not sure whether this is a bug or a Windows limitation - but the 64-bit version of TC freezes if I want to launch a 32-bit program. It happens when I press F4 on a text file, which should open the text file in Notepad++ (which is defined as the external editor on my machine).

(I also tried pressing the Plugman (yes, I know Plugman is not supported in TC x64) button on my TC toolbar, and the same thing happened.)

I assume that this is caused by a virus scanner. TC launches programs in the foreground thread, so scanning of the launched EXE can indeed freeze the program.

In that case, it could be Comodo's Defense+ (strange somehow, because it usually asks for permission if something new happens). I'll see if it's the same after the next OS reboot.
