Do you use Windows 7 x64 ?
TC is installed at "Program Files" directory ?
Your wincmd.ini file is at TC directory ?

You do NOT have write permissions at this directory!

Set write permission for everybody for wincmd.ini file or move TC directory to an other location.

Windows 8 x64
TC in disk "D"

Bug confirmed by another person other than me. In TC x32 all OK.

Confirmed!
TC 8.01 x64 (Windows 7 x64, 1600x1200 Monitor) resets these values to fix values:
MenuChangeDX=1200
MenuChangeDY=850

while MenuChangeX and MenuChangeY are auto position values, increasing each time the dialog is reopened (from left/top to right/bottom).

Confirmed, only here on a 1366x768 monitor the values are:
MenuChangeDX=1025
MenuChangeDY=533

Interesting!

In both cases the window width is 75 % of the horizontal resolution and the height is 70% of the vertical resolution.

Sorry but I do not understand the problem. Do you have write rights to wincmd.ini? Are the numbers actually written to it?

Yes and yes.

Just try it yourself - no matter what size you give the Change Start Menu dialog or the Change Directory dialog, it will have a fixed size next time it is opened (this size is apparantly depending on screen size) and the window will be moved a little down and right each time it is opened.

Just start TC with a clean ini file and open one of those two dialogs twice to see it.

Only 64bit version is affected.
