Drag&drop files with total size over 2GB

Post by *Schtonk »

This bug appears in TC (x64) v.8.01.

Dragging and dropping a list of selected files with a total size >2GB from TC window to other application window would not work. TC would freeze for some seconds and then would work on normally. No files would be d&d'ed to the other d&d capable program.

As soon as the list of files is <2GB d&d'ing would work again.

corrigendum

Post by *Schtonk »

It's always better to sleep one night before reporting a bug...

Turned out that the files to be dragged and dropped were on a MAC HFS+ partition. Obviously the path length of one file of the list exceeded the max path length allowed in Windows. So the file was properly listed in TC but it was not accessible in any way.

When selecting/marking the whole file list and trying to drag and drop it the whole process would hang in TC because of one file exceeding max pathlength...

This should actually work, if the target supports it - can you try with two instances of Total Commander?

Thanks for coming back on this one:

You are absolutely right - it will work when the target supports it. Sorry I did not notice myself.

Keep your great work going on!
