Sorry, my negligence...

I started a registry search with one term ("winscp") and received the error message mentioned in my initial post. Although TC resumed the search after confirming the error message it crashed immediately after finishing the search job.

This problem can be reprodruced.

How did you search: with TC's search function (Alt+F7) or with the plugin's search function ('-Search-' file that is shown in every registry path)?

The error occurs with TC's search function (Alt+F7). I just tried via TextSearch-PlugIN which worked well.

The error report shows that it happens inside of the registry plugin
and not in TC itself.

Well, I've been almost always using the plugin's search function since it exists. I just tested Alt+F7 in HKEY_CURRENT_USER with different search terms and didn't get an error message (exception). But I tested on XP and you're using Win7, so there may be differences in the plugin's code for different OS.

O.k. don't worry. I think it's not worth to deep dive as we're only discussing about a 3rd party PlugIn. I can do the same work with Windows standard tools.
Anyway, thanks for your work and time :)

Cheers und vielen Dank,
Ralf
