When I try to copy a huge amount of files (3k+ or even 400+) to a USB connected smartphones camera folder and I confirm the message box (Kopieren von 3824 Dateien/Verzeichnis(sen) nach \\Camera\) by clicking the (Ja) button, the the copy job fails without any further notice. Copying smaller amounts, e.g. 20, were copied without issues.

Cheers

I tested a little more. Amounts lower 300 are copied properly. Copying with Windows Explorer has no issues.

Filehandling between PC and smartphone runs much more stable with the plugin Windows Media Audio 2 ... and yes it works with mp3 and every other file type.

@sqa_wizard: Thanks for this tipp, but I don't like Windows Media Player, I'm using Win 10 N Version.

It's kind of obvious that something is wrong. If I select 299 files, then it works. It does not work on 300+ files, and that's reproducible.

Total Commander cannot copy directly from/to a smartphone - the only thing that works is "Copy" and "Paste". TC passes the correct number of items to the IContextMenu interface, but Windows seems to have troubles receiving mire than 300 files this way. I don't know how the explorer does it, sorry.

The Windows Media Audio 2 plugin uses MTP (media transfer protocol) directly to access the device, but this doesn't work with all types of devices, only those connected via MTP...

Is it an Android phone? Try using ADB instead of MTP.
