Hi
I would like to command my NAS to wake up using TC.
(as a beta tester i can test this one out if you like)

feature request: Wake-on-LAN-service for NAS
Moderators: white, Hacker, petermad, Stefan2
New button with
from Nirsoft or any other of the numerous wakeonlan tools. Normally a NAS should wake up on access.
Code: Select all
WakeMeOnLan.exe /wakeup 40-FF-FF-FF-16-23
Thx ZoSTeR
Nice find.
But...
- The executable is almost 1/4 of the size of TC(32). which makes me think "what else is in there"?
- This will only work on M$ platform. TC is multi platform.
- I'm not keen on downloaded executables from the web from unknown sources.
=> Thus, i would prefer a solution within TC.
If i give this a try, then first i'll put it in quarantine for a while, then i'll scan it and test it out in a protected VM (thinking out loud: it should see my NAS, so i cannot protect it for 100%, so i guess i'll skip it)

There is no danger in using any of the Nirsoft toolsRobbie wrote:Thx ZoSTeR

but some Antivirus programs make false positives.
Its stand-alone executable without any addional DLLs needed
therefore the size.
Its part of your NAS device to wakeup on connections and not the job of any file manager.
