zoom in or scale menu list in TC 9.51
Hello,
I wear glasses and I have 4k monitor.
Is it possible to zoom in or scale Total Commander menu list?
I zoom in other parts of Total Commander but without all menu lists.
I have 9.51 version of Total Commander.
Please help.
Regards
Marcin from Poland

Re: zoom in or scale menu list in TC 9.51
Hi Marcin, welcome.
There is only a setting to increase the size of the dialogs: Configuration > Options... > Fonts >> Dialog box scaling (DPI)
Keep the font in the dialogs at 8 or 9 and resize the dialogs by setting a higher DPI value to make both the dialogs AND fonts larger.
You may try out >magnify< from dos command line to increase the view.
Or try changing the Display Scaling Settings of your WindowsTM

No, that is not possible.marcinzmyslowski wrote: ↑2020-06-15, 19:33 UTC Is it possible to zoom in or scale Total Commander menu list?

Free programs such as WINTOOLS and WINAERO TWEAKER both have options to change font size and fonts on specific items ie Menu, Title Bar, Icons ...
WINTOOLS is the easiest to work with for this issue, whereas WINAERO TWEAKER has a very comprehensive set of options.
Both programs works in Win 7/8/10.

Thank you. I used WinTools. They look great at last.

I mean font size of filename to save. I cannot make it bigger.
Re: zoom in or scale menu list in TC 9.51
I don't have any 4k capability; but a little digging seems to solve the problem (I hope).
Looks like the 'Save As' font/size is controlled via the System Font (not in Wintools).
Use Winaero Tweaker to get System Font changes - >Advanced Appearance Settings>System Font. In right panel select 'Use the following font'.
Changes to the System Font here also affects Icon fonts and Taskbar Fonts - see next line.
After you have found a font/size that works for you ('Save As'), use WinTools 'Icon' to change the Icon font/size to get the Icon and the Taskbar font/size you like.
This will not reset the 'Save As' option.

Re: zoom in or scale menu list in TC 9.51
I tried to do it, but finally it didn`t succeed.
I was able to change system font, but it doesn`t affect Save as (in Polish: "Zapisz jako typ" field) and Filename (in Polish "Nazwa pliku" field).
Take a look at my screenshot:

Every other font field size was increased except from the most required field for me.
Can you advice me?
Maybe I do something wrong.
Please help

"Save as" is a system dialog, the scaling options and font options within TC don't affect it. Only global scaling will affect this special dialog, because it's part of Windows, not Total Commander.

Re: zoom in or scale menu list in TC 9.51
I don't think the 'Save As' issue was related to TC, only the Menu font issue..
The issue is present windows programs ie Notepad.
It's looks like it's an old issue (reports several years old).
I confused myself in prev. posting, as I had changed the default System Menu to a font with larger font face (Tahoma) in the default pt setting.
Having spent time with MS support, resetting font cache etc., conclusion is this is not working.
In my mind it is not going to be resolved, unless it gets to 'Bill Gates' level at MS if you get my drift.
