Open the current users home directory

Hi,

Via the cm_OpenDesktop-command you can define a hotkey for opening the desktop-folder of your system. Similar, I'm looking for a command that opens the UserProfile (or user home, if you like) directory (usally placed in C:\Documents and Settings\<user name> or C:\WINNT\Profiles\<user name>). And thinking of it, it would probably be nice to have a command that opens the "All Users"-directory.

It may be that these commands already exists - then I just haven't been able to locate them yet (please give a hint )

True, but what I want is to map the functionallity to a hotkey.
I have mapped Alt-D to "open desktop-directory" and would like to map e.g. Alt-U to "open user home-directory"...

I tried to download the "exp. eng. menu" you provided a link for, as a RAR-file, but there seems to be an error in the archive.

Could you please place a corrected version for download ?

There is no error in archive, I just checked it out.

It is correct.
Actually how your download problems related with custom internal commands? You don't need any special menu to use them.[/face]

Hmm... Thats very odd! When I open the archive in Winrar it says that the header of the archive is corrupt.

I tried to download another rar-file from the site with the same result.
Then I tried to use another browser, which resulted in a file with a diffrent filesize, though still corrupt

Normally, I have no problems downloading rar files from any given site - except www.ukr.net it seems... Downloading other files e.g. zip-files from the site works fine!
Does anyone have a idea to what might be the problem ?

The site does not support anonymous ftp (and I don't have a login) !?!

Btw. I downloaded the HA packed file and the ha-plugin for TC, but I have the exact same problems as described above with this file.
Does anyone know another site where I can download the menu-plugin ?

Well, tried it, but it didn't change anything!

Could it be the mime type that is wrong, as reported by the site or something ? (What would I know ?)

It's a known problem with BD's site, it's indeed the MIME type, the server doesn't send the correct header. Did you try downloading by shift and drag the link to TC, and don't forget to check the box saying download as BINARY in ftp configuration.

If anyone is looking for a keyboard shortcut assignable command to navigate to the user's home directory, here's how to achieve it:

1. Open Configuration > Options
2. Navigate to Misc.
3. In the "Redefine hotkeys" section, select the keyboard shortcut you want to use
4. Click the "Command browser" button (the magnifying glass)
5. Select the "usercmd.ini" category
6. Click the "New..." button
7. Put the following text into the Command field (the environment variable parameter "%USERPROFILE%" has to be there and not in the Parameters field because there's no environment variable expansion, unfortunately):

cd %USERPROFILE%

8. You can add a command description to the Tooltip field
9. Click OK and select the command you have just created
10. Click OK to close the Options dialog, and your keyboard shortcut should work!

This was added recently, but you have to use a different syntax:

%|envvar|
Insert environment variable envvar in the parameters field. Using %envvar% directly isn't possible, because the % sign is already used for placeholders. Therefore this modified syntax needs to be used. The "command" field still uses the normal %envvar% field.
