Impossible column width per pane

Post by *NotNull »

Not the most accurate title (to put it politely), so a bit more detail:

- Left pane: Menu => Show => Comments ( Ctrl + Shift + F2 )
- Right pane: Menu => Show => Comments ( Ctrl + Shift + F2 )
- In either of the panes, put the mouse cursor on the Name column header divider
- Resize the Name column

Result: the width of the Name column in the other pane changes accordingly.
Things get even more confusing when experimenting with multiple tabs on each side ...

  1. Is this reproducible on other systems?
  2. If so, can this behaviour be changed?
  3. If so, why is this (the coupled width) the default?
    Seems undesirable to me.

If the left and right panel i showing the same view, then changing the columns in on sside, also chnages the other side - that is by design and also applies to all other views like Full View or Custom Cloumn view.
If so, why is this (the coupled width) the default?
Seems undesirable to me.
The column widths are set per view-type, not per panel, and not per tab.
