TC search get stuck for a long time in a particular folder
When performing a text search within files in a specific directory with subdirectories using Total Commander, at some point it seems to get stuck for a long time in a particular folder, even though there are no large files there. Why is that?
Re: TC search get stuck for a long time in a particular folder
It could be anti-virus software scanning all the files which TC reads. Or some kind of ransomware protection (might be part of anti-virus software) that wants to prevent software from reading all the files and writing them with a different (=encrypted) content.

But it is strange that they always stop in the same sheet, the others also change every day.

1. What does that folder contain?
2. What search parameters do you use, e.g. do you search by content, or search archives, or both?

by content, not search archives.
contain:
index.html
script.js
style.css
few bytes.
I have the doubt if the taskbar displays a folder but the search is blocked by some other path.

Try moving script.js to a different directory and check if the problem is still there.
My guess is that the virus scanner takes a long time to check the script.

It NOT occour with Windows Defender realtime disabled.
It occour in two different PC with same path.
I tried to empty directory and now it hang in previous directory in alphabetic order.
If I restore file in directory it hang as before.
This only happens the first time at each computer restart.

So it really is Windows Defender! It remembers what it has already scanned, but scans it again when it gets new virus signatures. That's why you see the delay again after a restart.
