Raw Commands for TC

Post by *pdavit »

I recently came across an article about a file manager called Directory Opus 6 (it has been mentioned in this forum before although for its aesthetics other than its functionality), and I was impressed by its capabilities on the following two features (as they are called by its developers):

- Opus Raw Commands
- External Command Control Codes

It’s actually an extensive system of providing parameters to the internal/external commands of the file manager. The parameters are implemented quite sophisticated and extend beyond our "common perception" of command-prompt parameters since they include a powerful form similar to macros and scripting (one of my favorite feature suggestion http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=119 ).

You can download the manual of Opus in pdf here http://www.gpsoft.com.au/Download.html and have a look at the corresponding sections. It would be great if TC could follow a similar system and it would be actually a first step to an advanced macro system in the future too! (fingers crossed ;) )

Please, Christian have a look at the aforementioned pdf file as what’s included can be useful to you if you are planning to implement something similar for TC in the future.

Kind regards,
Panos

InnerFuse Pascal Script system, perhaps this would help towards that goal :)

Thanks for the link, I hope Christian is listening! ;)

Oh, by the way another useful feature I've located going through the aforementioned pdf file is the so-called Output Window which has the task to collect, display and manage Find results, a Log for tracking file operations, an FTP Page session log, an Undo system for the last 10 undoable file operations etc. Very very useful and clever check it out.
