Good old bugs ... synchronize directories strange bug

Post by *Sam York »

I have a new computer and a new strange TC bug.

OS: '98se & xp pro

The bug: Files that are completely the same are displayed randomly as been different or even missing or same directories contents are compared in different on-screen location !!!

I have never encountered before such strange behaviour(TC 5.51)

This sounds like a bad memory chip (RAM). It could also be a problem with the harddisk cable - especially the Ultra DMA transfer modes are extremely sensitive to cable length and shielding. Do you also get CRC errors when trying to create ZIP files?

No bad memory chip and not a problem with the hdd ... No problem with zip's CRC ... The computer is more than new and I did some tests with several hardware diagnostics softwares.

Hi folks!
I'm new in town, so I'm not so sure about what I should do or say here... but anyway:

Couldn't this be the classic timezone / daylight saving problem?
- Especially if some of the files are on a NTFS partition?
