This is description of "-v" parameter from ACE.TXT (ACE32.EXE v.2.04):

__________transmission_from_clipboard____________

v<size> - Set volume size creates multi-volume archive;
sets volume size to <size>*1000 bytes

______________end_of_transmission________________

You see, no suffixes to switch bytes/kbytes. So what exactly you want to be changed?[/face]

When you go to create a multi-volume archive with TC, the window that pops up says "Please enter the size of each archive in bytes". That is wrong. It is wrong for both RAR and ACE.

With both RAR and ACE the number which must be entered in this window is the number of bytes / 1024 (despite what the ace.txt file says about *1000)

I used to backup my HDD by creating both ACE and RAR archives of critical software. I used to create multi-volume archives which were sized to 702MB for fitting on CD. Whether it was ACE or RAR being used, the number I had to put in TC's multi-volume archive size window was always 718848. 702 * 1024 = 718848

As I told, you can easily fix it yourself. So I can't see the problem.

Yep, TC uses "k" suffix, and what exactly uses ACE I really don't know (and actually don't want to %) - that example just shows you that it's impossible to give ACE size in bites.

You can use "m" suffix with RAR.[/face]

But that doesn't fix the bug for all the others...

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Will TC 6 still be using -SFX parameter instead of -SFX32?
